5 Reasons Why You Should Ring in the New Year by Visiting the Farmers Market!

  1. Try new things: The New Year can often be a time of exploration, and visiting the farmers market creates opportunities to try and explore new foods, whether that be from a culture you are unfamiliar with or a new type of produce! (I recently tried making Romanesco and loved it!)

  2. Find local community: Looking to find a space where you can see familiar faces every weekend? The farmers market is perfect! Not only can you see neighbors, but creating consistent relationships with vendors is a great way to start your weekend mornings.

  3. Invest in local vendors: Ever had an idea that you wanted to grow and pursue? Many of the vendors that we host at the market started out as just that! By shopping at the farmers market, you are supporting other people’s passions and investing in their success.

  4. Shopping local is a part of a healthy lifestyle: All of the goods sold at the market have been grown or produced within 125 miles of where they are sold! This means that the food (especially produce) sold at the market is fresh, retains its nutritional value, and is using less emissions from transportation to get to you! All of these mean that they can be incorporated into a balanced lifestyle.

  5. Support the local economy: When shopping with our local vendors, your dollars not only are going to support small businesses, but also stay within the community!
