Looking for some fun yard games and crafts?

We’ll have connect four, corn hole, ring toss, and hula hoops, as well as coloring for kids at the Market Tent. Stop by to enjoy some fun time outside, before it gets too hot!

Vendor Spotlight: Faerie Springs Farm

The BEST goat cheese in the area.

Faerie Springs Farm is a small family goat dairy farm located in Mercersburg Pennsylvania. They have Nubian, Saanen, Alpine, Lamancha goats, and milk all 90 dairy goats twice a day from February to November and make a variety of Chevre soft spreadable goat cheese and Feta.

Check out their flavors, such as Summer Herb, Garlic & Dill, and Lemon & Honey. They have also been known to bring goats to visit our markets, so keep an eye on the newsletter to see which market they visit next!

Honeybee Activity from 10:00am-10:30am with the Master Gardeners

Join the Master Gardeners from 10:00am-10:30am to learn about what honey bees do e everyday and how they “talk” to each other using the waggle dance. Kids will learn the waggle dance and Rubee, our favorite big toy honeybee, will be there to say hi. Appropriate for ages 5-8. A parent or guardian must remain with children during the program.

Master Gardeners, 9AM-11AM

Visit the Master Gardeners at their table, or in the native plant garden, to get your gardening questions answered. In the Garden, learn how to make a mosquito dunk bucket to reduce mosquitos in your yard.

Visiting artist, Tenley Brady, will be back this weekend at both Cherrydale and Westover markets. Tenley has travelled around the world painting scenes from markets using oil paints. Now, she is visiting our markets to capture their community glow. Please feel free to say hi to Tenley and take a look at what she is working on, but be mindful of her space while working. Live Music: Rick Franklin

Rick’s musical style of blues is known as the “Piedmont” style identified with such legendary players as Blind Blake, Blind Boy Fuller and William Moore along with players and friends like “Bowling Green” John Cephas, John Jackson, and Archie Edwards. He has been playing has been playing acoustic guitar and singing the Blues at community events, local festivals, international festivals, as well as various clubs, cafes and other venues since 1981, when he moved to Arlington.

A Virginia native, Mike brings his acoustic guitar and vocal talents to the DMV area with his acoustic performances. Any given weekend finds him providing the soundtrack to your morning farmers market run, initiating singalongs at the afternoon pub crawl, or closing the evening down at your favorite local watering hole.

Mike's catalogue includes current cross-spectrum hits, that classic you totally forgot about (but still know every lyric to), and even a few of his originals that have become crowd favorites over the years.

Field to Table has partnered with the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) to have donation boxes available each week at all farmers markets. Support the Arlington community by donating nonperishable food items (no glass, please) at our markets. Learn more.

AFAC is in most need of canned fruits, canned tuna, canned soups, canned vegetables, canned tomatoes, peanut butter (in a plastic jar), cereal, and plastic water bottles!
